The Revenger’s Tragedy

Went to see this tonight.  Written by Thomas Middleton, it’s funny, sad and sick and I enjoyed it.  It’s definitely worth a evening and as it’s part of the Travelex Season at the National, it’s possible to get tickets for £10, that’s almost the same price as going to the cinema!!  FInd out more about the production here

The weekend, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Odd Hair…

….ok, so at the moment I am a little obsessed by the weekend.

This is largely because work is taking up such a chunk of my head that I don’t do huge amounts in the week except travel to work, work and sleep. (And worry about the still unremoved dead rat)

But no work tomorrow….so I can stop worrying about work and start wondering what they did to Shia LaBoeuf’s hair in the new Indiana Jones movie to make it look so wrong.  I found myself obsessing about said hair during the film.  It’s supposed to be a DA but he doesn’t have the hair for it, so the make up lady, basically did the best she could and used a lot of hairspray. It looked like a weird helmet and I worried about how they brushed it out.  You couldn’t have got a brush through it.  I decided that they must have had a special mallet that they used to crack it open every night.  Was the film any good?  No. It was deeply ok.  I didn’t come out feeling cheated but I struggling to remember much about it, except that hair……

Fulham

I live in Fulham.  I grew up in Fulham but the Fulham that I know is the one that likes football not rugby and doesn’t often go near Parsons Green and didn’t go to private school.  There is a Facebook group called ‘I grew up in Fulham and I’m not posh’, which sort of sums it up….

The other Fulham, home of the Sloany Pony, was summed up in a conversation I overheard on the train today:

Woman 1: ‘Where are you working now?’
Woman 2: ‘At Country Life’
Woman 1: ‘Oh I did know that, you had dinner with my uncle’

It’s a whole other world………

Dead rats…

After a very pleasant weekend, it was back to work to deal with the dead rats.  So like everywhere else we have a rat problem.  I called facilities, they sent someone to come and lay down poison.  The poison worked and on Friday we had some very dead, and slightly smelly dead rats.  I called facilities again, asked them to urgently get someone to come deal with the dead rats.

Nothing happened.

Today we have some very dead and VERY smelly rats.  I called facilities, several times.  They called the company that poisoned the rats.

Nothing happened.

I’m beginning to think that this is punishment for calling in the rat poisoners.

I could never say my job isn’t varied……….

Helicopters….

……loud ones, going round in a circle from the sounds of it.  Come on people, this is Fulham, not the Bronx. Yes, there are some unhappy Chelsea fans in the Broadway but they are mostly shouting and I can drown them out with the radio, I can’t drown out the noise of a helicopter and I’ve had an emotional night and I need to sleep…..

Away: Paris is Magic….

So I went to Paris for a flickr meet.  It was a flying visit and we stayed up all night.  I’m still tired but it was worth it, just to find out how much I don’t know about about taking photos..
