I’ve been neglecting the plot. I’ve been busy and tired and I’m ready for winter and a less needy plot.

But this weekend, I did at least turn up.

First off was picking tomatoes. And doing a bit of weeding of that bed.

Then I got side tracked by the front bed. I had some echinacea and a Russian sage to plant there and it all needed a bit of a tidy as it’s rained just enough to encourage the weeds and grass. It also means that getting the grass runners out is easy. A bucket of grass roots later and they were planted out.

There are lots of plants in the bed now that just need some time to fill out. I need to leave it alone now, hope it all comes back next year and see what I feel about it after that.

I also picked up my brassicas that DHL have been playing about with delivering.

They were a bit battered and slimy and I was running out of light. Cabbage greens for spring went into the polytunnel beds where there was space. The rest of the plants were placed in pots with compost and watered and hopefully, they’ll live and I’ll plant them out next week.

I dead headed the dahlias and went home
