Classic White Loaf

This weekend, I made bread. I used to make bread fairly often but haven’t done it much recently. However I had just made some jam and if you have jam then you need bread to properly taste test it.

The recipe is from BBC Good Food and it does exactly what it says it does. I didn’t change the ingredients at all but I did make a slight change to the method, because I don’t like to knead bread (it makes my hands ache) so once I had dough, I kneaded in the bowl and left it to rise until it had doubled then I put it in the loaf tin for the final rise. I did allow that last rise to go on a bit too long and it got a bit messy but it was really good and very simple.

So if you thinking about making some bread, this is a good place to start!
