Well that’s another week done with. Nelson Mandela died yesterday. Everyone is sharing quotes and mourning him, but he put it best,

“Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity”

I always say this when a public figure dies but I didn’t know Nelson Mandela, so I cannot mourn the person. I’m sad for the people that did know and love him and will miss him. I’m worried for what the loss of him will do to South Africa. So if I have prayers, that’s where they will go, because he doesn’t need them anymore, he’s gone home.

4) Fighting over Christmas dinner. Ma and I never fight over dinner, we have roast beef, I’m in charge of the yorkshires, Ma the veg and we’re both happy. This year will be slightly different because we have Ben and Lu and Oli with us but we won’t fight about dinner. We may spar a bit over who drinks all the wine (it’ll be Ben!).
