On Friday I bought a Christmas tree and put up decorations.
The moral of the story is that I can’t be trusted to buy an appropriately sized Christmas tree for my living room, this is a big tree in my small living room, which had to be slightly re-organized.
I was told by someone that shall remain nameless that I was very brave to go to the trouble of a Christmas tree when I didn’t have a family to decorate for. Yes, it was rude but I also found it kind of funny because having a tree is very important to me. I haven’t lived at home since I was 22 and I have always had a Christmas tree. The baubles on the tree were given to me or chosen by me.
Sarah gave me this one.
I bought this one but the tree that sits in the ‘fireplace’ every year came from Jo.
Every year, I buy a tree and I hang the ornaments on it, ornaments that are meaningful to me because I picked them or was given them or I made them and every year it makes me happy.

Merry Christmas Nic … the tree looks beautiful especially because it also holds special memories. I’m still trying to understand the ‘brave’ comment from anon, I didn’t realise Christmas trees belong to couples or families (what a revelation!) x
Thank you! It is a lovely tree. Actually just after it happened to me I read it somewhere else so it’s obviously new for this year!
Merry Christmas to you too, let’s catch up in the New Year! x
